And he is not the only one who thinks so, I face such distrust all the time. The difficulty is that I agree with them 50%. The problem is that for the brands that I have dealt with or encountered, no representative of the manufacturer has been engaged in mass demand creation, the sphere of interest has been limited to the largest customers. The main problem is that only a hundred other companies can be called major clients in Russia, and the remaining 2,500 companies receive information wherever they can. If you are a company of the STMicroelectronics level, then it is more likely that the company’s engineers visit the site, and information sites translate technical news, but what if you occupy an honorable 76th place in the world ranking for your products?
My personal opinion is the following. Both the manufacturer and the distributor should be engaged in the promotion of the brand on the territory of Russia. The second problem is that none of the manufacturers I have encountered has any plans to promote their products within the borders of Russia, and none of the manufacturers controls or distributes this process among the distributors. As a result, one distributor can give 10 news and visit 100 customers, while the other does nothing. The first one grows by 10%, the second – by 13%. Question: which distributor is more important for the manufacturer? The answer will be in the annual growth charts, which, in my opinion, is incorrect. With this approach, the manufacturer personally kills the initiative. And this is the approach of all manufacturers that I have dealt with for 16 years.
